These standards apply to the calculator, conversion tables, examples, and editorial guides published on teaspoonsinmg.com.
Accuracy starts with the kind of measurement
Every page must distinguish volume from mass: teaspoons and milliliters measure volume, while milligrams measure mass. A volume-to-mass result must identify the teaspoon definition and a density in grams per milliliter. We do not publish one universal milligram value for every teaspoon.
Displayed results may be rounded, but the shared calculation uses the unrounded constant stored in the calculator code. Water at 1.000 g/mL is clearly labelled as an approximation, not a property shared by other materials or all temperatures.
Source standards
We prefer standards bodies, government measurement guidance, and original technical documentation over unsourced conversion lists. Our principal unit references are:
- NIST Guide to the SI, Appendix B.9, which lists the US teaspoon-to-milliliter conversion factor.
- BIPM SI Brochure, the authoritative guide to the International System of Units.
Those organizations are reference sources. They do not sponsor, endorse, review, or partner with this site.
Writing and review workflow
- Define the reader question and the measurement assumptions required to answer it.
- Check unit constants against a primary or official reference.
- Recalculate examples from the shared formula and test boundary cases such as zero, invalid density, and reverse conversion.
- Review wording for unsupported certainty, medical-dose implications, and hidden rounding assumptions.
- Publish a byline, dates, source links, and a path for reporting corrections.
Authorship, updates, and corrections
The Teaspoons to Milligrams Editorial Team is the collective byline for the contributors who research, write, edit, develop, and test this site. We do not add individual credentials that have not been publicly verified.
Material changes receive an updated date. Typos that do not alter meaning may be corrected without changing the published date. If a calculation or factual statement is wrong, we correct the affected page and its shared source where applicable.
Report a possible error through the contact form. Include the URL, the disputed value or statement, your expected result, and a source when available.
Safety and editorial independence
The site is educational. Generic density conversion must not be used to determine a medicine dose; product concentration and qualified medical guidance take priority. Current editorial content contains no sponsored recommendations, paid testimonials, or claimed awards.
